Beams Battle Cancer At Fermi Lab Neutron Therapy
Researchers at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory report promising results from neutron beam therapy for terminal cancer patients. Since 1976 about 1000 patients deemed hopeless have been treated, with many now disease free for up to four years. The program, funded by a $1 million yearly grant, aims to expand with a $15 million neutron facility.
