City Mulls Higher Fees for Early Trash Curbside Removals
Elyria residents and businesses could face an increase in unscheduled pickup penalties as City Council weighs raising the extra charge from 11.50 to 36.50 for residents and up to 119 for businesses. Council members Abbey Burkhard and Gersak urge action citing clutter and ugliness from early dump-offs. The plan, tied to sanitation staffing costs, awaits a Sept meeting vote and details contact numbers for the sanitation department and safety director.
