August chill brings near record low in Elyria
Elyria reports a 44 degree overnight low and 64 degree high as August defies heat. Weather observer Ray Diederich notes 42 degrees is a record from 1968 but calls recent cool spells not unusual. He recalls late August highs in the 90s to 100s in the 1950s and says rain lowers pollen counts at Lutheran Medical Center in Cleveland.
