Black River Boosters Round Up $12,000 for School Bleachers
In Spencer the Black River Athletic Booster Club borrowed $12,000 to fund gym bleachers for the new high school. Members sold $25 bonds, staged dinners and auctions to repay the debt, and by early auction week had reduced the balance to $700 with $3,75 in bonds donated last month. The aim is full repayment this year through community events and continued fundraisers.
