Also expelled was the West Coast Fisherman's Union merged with Bridges' group. Bridges, Australian-born, was recently convicted of swearing falsely about his Communist ties while applying for citizenship and is free on bail pending appeal.

Jerry Hopkins age four and a half of 223 Valley View Elyria is in poor condition with polio at Cleveland City Hospital and has been in an iron lung since yesterday. Herman Davis 35 of 54 North Prospect Street Oberlin also has poliomyelitis and is in City Hospital, the second case on his street in three weeks. Rima Sandbank eight, of 35 North Prospect Street Oberlin, first polio case in two years, has throat involvement and iron lung use but is improving.
