WPB Moves to Increase Wages in Key Reconversion Industries
The War Production Board seeks wage and price boosts in low pay, low price sectors producing scarce materials for postwar reconversion. The WPB, WIA, and War Labor Board will act to stimulate output in brick, sash, pipe, and related industries essential to construction. Restrictions on inventories and car price schedules await more orders as reconversion accelerates, with a focus on preventing duplicate orders and aligning incentives.
