A North Ridgeville man identified as Anthony Schick, 51, was killed when he walked into a westbound lane on Interstate 90 and was struck by a semi. Avon police found no charges against the driver as the case remains under coroner investigation. Westbound lanes closed about two hours. Police contact Laina Yost.
The United Way of Greater Lorain County is delivering needed school supplies to more than 40 elementary schools in the county. Marketing director Ryan Aroney says the goal is to ensure students have essentials by the first day of school and to fill in gaps in a targeted way.
