Spain's La Tomatina Tomato Battle Attracts Huge Crowd
Tens of thousands gathered in Bunol for La Tomatina the famed tomato fight in eastern Spain. Overripe tomatoes flew, turning streets and buildings red as participants shouted and spectators watched from balconies. The festival, dating to the 1940s, draws visitors from Japan and Australia and is held on the last Wednesday of August each year.
