Alcoholism expert calls for expanded treatment funding
Paul Lubben, director of Oakview, argues for increased government support for alcoholism and drug abuse treatment, prevention, and research. He notes alcohol harms exceed other drugs and says education and trained counselors are needed to meet rising demand. Oakview offers inpatient and outpatient programs guided by 12 step principles. He cites his 17 years in the field and recent NAADAC presidency. Donna Raynsford named Oberlin College's first woman VP for operations, after a nationwide search. She previously led Cornell capital projects and will oversee plant operations, facilities, and services.
