Truck Plunges Into River Five Crown Tragedy at Conowingo Dam
Five men drowned when a heavy truck slid off a slippery Conowingo Dam road and plunged into the Susquehanna River. Police recovered five bodies and feared two or three more may have died. About twenty-two men were believed to be aboard when the vehicle rolled over. Names of the dead were not known. Some injured were taken to Bikton hospital and to nearby doctors.

Five Die In Pennsylvania Farm House Fire
HONESDALE Pa August 2 192? Five persons including three children burned to death when a Berlin Township farm home owned by George Griffin was consumed by flames cold early morning. Griffin awakened and saved two young children but perished in the blaze along with his wife and the other three children Ronald 12 Mildred 10 and Jean 8. Neighbors unable to fight the blaze reached the scene as the two story house collapsed after the alarm.

Skeleton Find Near N Ridge Bridge Yields Ancient Arrowed Death
W R U professor says a skeleton found five feet underground during bridge work near North Ridge Road shows an arrow point wedged in a vertebra. The archaeologist classifies the arrow as antler tipped from a deer or elk, dating the victim to pre stone age or early stone age, possibly before the 17th century. The victim was a young man who survived for a time after the injury, with the skeleton found seated and bones scattered. The discovery was reported by attorney Albert Cinniger of Lorain who notes the arrow likely caused spinal damage but might not have been instant death. Continued on Page 2.

Cash Robbery At City Loan Company On Middle Avenue
Two armed men robbed the City Loan Company during a noon lull, taking about 100 dollars from the cash drawer and examining the safe. Clerks Miss Margaret Lescher and Miss Helen Smith described one robber as blond, five feet five, wearing a light suit and straw hat, while the other was dark with a revolver. Former Southwestern employees to hold reunion Sunday
