Avon Lake to pursue legal action over unpaid trash fees
Avon Lake City Council granted Law Director Russell Provenza authority to sue nearly 400 households for five months of unpaid garbage and recycling charges. The $11 monthly fee funds curbside recycling and balances the budget, with about 7 percent of residents not paying. Delinquents owe around $22,000, while a volume-based rate and possible income tax tweaks loom as potential relief.
