Ohio Supreme Court bars suit over minister sex with married wife
The Ohio Supreme Court ruled 5-2 that Richard Strock cannot sue Rev. James Pressnell for malpractice or related claims after alleging he had sex with Strock’s wife during marriage counseling at Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Church. The decision cited a 1978 law restricting claims over consensual relations with a married person and loss of affection. Justice Sweeney dissented, saying Pressnell could be liable for malpractice if the facts were true.
