Peace activist Folsom leads cross country to push for disarmament

Franklin Folsom, 80, Colorado author of 40 children's books, joined 600 marchers in the Great Peach March for Global Nuclear Disarmament. A year after walking coast to coast in 3,000 miles, he led 229 Americans on a three week peacenik trek to Russia with 200 Soviet walkers, addressing 30,000 in Novgorod. Each marcher spent about 2,500 of personal funds, and Folsom urged Soviet children that American kids seek peace. He predicts the U.S. peace movement will eliminate all nuclear weapons within 10 years.
