Parachutist grips Statue of Liberty torch in weird stunt
Thierry Devaux, 41, a French daredevil, used a paramotor to try to land on the torch but became tangled in the gilded flame and clung to Liberty’s arm for about 30 minutes. Police rescued him, arrested him on trespass and disorderly conduct charges, and the Statue of Liberty was closed for hours.
