Lorain County 4-H fair events include crowds and music

Injured driver survives four days in wreckage

Michael Giovanetti survived four days pinned in the twisted car at the bottom of a steep hill in OAEMONT Pennsylvania. He crawled out after four sultry days, dragging himself up the hill despite head wounds and broken ribs while praying for strength and grateful for a breeze that brought relief.

West River mailbox hit for the 32nd time

A pickup crashed into the Smiths 1155 West River Road North mailbox and light pole at 11 30 p m Saturday. Police charged Jeffery Robinson 29 with driving under the influence and failure to maintain control. The truck roof was poked, the windshield shattered, and Robinson treated at EMH Regional Medical Center. The Smiths say the mailbox problems began in 1981 after road widening and plan to stay in their two acre home.
