Washington Aug 22 The second New Deal Congress nears closing with major adjournment obstacles compromised or headed for quick settlement. Adjournment of the long session seemed certain tonight as Roosevelt aides pushed to resolve utility and neutrality snags. The House approved a utility bill compromise trimming death sentences for holding companies, while the Senate passed the Guffey Coal Control bill. The third deficiency bill for social security and other expenses was also approved by the House.

Mrs. Edgar F. Allen died at 2 40 p m today at 514 Washington Avenue following a heart attack about 11 am. Active in civic affairs, she was treasurer of the Elyria Memorial Hospital women's auxiliary and former auxiliary president. Survived by husband Edgar F. Allen and son Frank B. Allen of Philadelphia. another son Homer died in the 1907 Memorial Day wreck in Elyria. Their fiftieth wedding anniversary would have been celebrated next year.

Trapped On Trestle Fatalities Near Cleveland
A Baltimore and Ohio freight train struck a mother and her daughter on a trestle near Cleveland while they berry picked. The mother Mrs Margaret Traxter, 40, died on impact.
