Man dies in Wellington road accident injuring four

Four others were injured when a light roadster skidded on wet pavement and rolled over on the Wellington Penfield road near Wellington about 4 am. Dominico Palsfa 60 of Detroit was killed. the driver Howard Aritschman 22 and two others suffered minor injuries while Pablia’s son sustained a broken collar bone and more. The coroner cited a fractured skull as the cause of death.

Two Women Hurt In Auto Crash On Oberlin Road

Two Buffalo women suffered injuries when a car overturned in a ditch after colliding with a mail truck driven by BE Davies of Oberlin. Rain Causes Light City Damage In Storm

A heavy morning rain storm with strong winds caused minor hazards in the city. An electric light wire fell near Cleveland street and Perry court, and a manhole blew off at Third street and West avenue. Service Director J. X. Eidt said the event was caused by rapid water surge in the sewer, not an explosion.

Firemen Save Trapped Family From Dam Flood

An Akron father Elias Dullabn and his two sons Herbert and William were swept below the Walsh Paper Company dam on the Cuyahoga river while scrap metal gathering. Firemen from Cuyahoga Falls halted the rising flood by lowering a rope and rescuing them from a rock, sparing them from death as the dam was opened.

Lakewood police searched Northern Ohio for Vilas H. Jackson a 39 year old missing contractor who left for an excavation job in Gates Mills on July 3 and did not return. His wife Elma reported the disappearance after he received threatening letters tied to hiring non union labor for Parma village fire station work last year.

Wellington Aug 23 dedication of a 75090 addition to the Herrick Memorial funded by the Herrick will was held in Town Hall. Aged veteran dies at home after Civil War service

Truman Sperry, 99, died at 6 30 A M at 104 Spruce Street Elyria after infirmities of old age. Born July 3 1845 in Vermilion he served in the Third Michigan Cavalry before capture and a year in Andersonville Prison. Survived by two nephews and a cousin. wife, son and daughter preceded him. Attack on Garner Construction guards in Cuyahoga Falls

In Cuyahoga Falls Ohio August 23 hand grenades and rifles were used in a dawn attack by labor racketeers against Garner Construction Company guards at a shaft site for a $100000 sewer and water line contract. Six guards held posts in trenches as about 50 shots were fired and the assailants fled into a nearby woods. The Board of Control awarded two sewer projects in Elyria. The M. Shnmaro Gallitta Co. of Cleveland won the 18th street district storm sewer bid at 16332 dollars.
