Lorain County Community College Police Academy Graduates Eighteen Cadets
Eighteen cadets completed more than 700 hours of training at Lorain County Community College Police Academy on Aug 18 and will begin careers in Northeast Ohio law enforcement. Class president Roger Le, a 34 year old Elyria resident, leads his cohort as he shifts from national military service to local policing with North Ridgeville Police.

Wellington man seriously injured in Erie County motorcycle crash
Thomas Urbansky, 25, of Wellington, suffered serious injuries after his Harley Davidsons Dyna Wide Glide left the road on Route 60 near Florence Township. He was not wearing a helmet and was hospitalized after EMS transported him to Mercy Health Lorain and then to Cleveland Metro. The crash remains under investigation.

Four juveniles arrested in Cincinnati youth slaying
Four males aged 13 to 17 were arrested by Cincinnati police in the death of 16 year old Galeron Beauchamp who was shot in a crosswalk in Avondale June 21 and died three days later at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. A family friend described Beauchamp as an innocent teen trying to reach his destination.

Ohio AG approves language for marijuana legalization petition
The Ohio Attorney General's Office approved the petition summary to legalize adult use and sales of marijuana. The measure would allow 21 plus to buy and possess 2.5 ounces, grow up to six plants, and includes provisional licenses for medical dispensaries and cultivators with two years of exclusive rights.
