Propose To Remodel Municipal Building And Sewer Extension
NEW LONDON A 1000 foot extension to the village sewer lines and the proposed remodeling of the present municipal building were the chief items of business at Monday night’s council meeting. The sewer line work aims to bring connections to New London avenue and part of South Main Street, paving the way for a further 2000 foot extension later this year or early next year when the new allotment opens for residential building. The plan also envisions water and gas improvements and replacing temporary lines. The building project contemplates enlarging or replacing the current municipal facility, with extra land needed if rebuilt, and Mayor White named councilman Fred Dill and Council President Ray E. Johnson to meet trustees of the First Methodist church to seek a strip of church ground now part of the property.
