Elyria health officials report a sharp drop in West Nile carrying mosquitoes. Of 124 tested pools, six were positive, all from two locations Colonial Oaks Mobile Home Park and Fire Station No. 3. Last year the rate neared 1 in 400. Weather helped, and residents are urged to use DEET repellents and reduce standing water. No human or animal cases yet in Lorain County this summer.
