Ohio Wheat Acreage to Drop 13 Percent in 1929
Columbus report: Ohio's 1929 wheat acreage is expected to be about 13 percent lower than 1928, at an estimated 3,145,000 acres versus 2,471,000 this year. Nationally, the United States is seen with about a 2.1 percent decrease. The Agriculture Department notes intentions in 1929 were lower than in 1927, especially in the corn belt and in Oklahoma and Texas, while the eastern coast states held higher intent. The department cautions the forecast is not a firm acreage forecast.
