Lorain County residents anticipate a full fair weekend before the official 8 a.m. Monday opening. Judging starts tomorrow afternoon. Eddy Arnold is billed for both Tuesday and Wednesday nights amid horse shows auto thrill shows and harness racing along with a grand livestock and farm equipment parade and a giant midway.
Early judging runs 1 to 7 p m for agricultural products projects. 4-H and FFA participants prepare displays and submit exhibits for county fair judging.
Tuesday August 23 features gates open at 8 am with morning judging across Junior Fair FFA products goats Holstein cattle and more. Harness racing eight heats includes Northern Ohio Colt Stakes. Eddy Arnold stage show at 7 and 9 pm in front of the grandstand.
On Wednesday August 24 Elyria Day the Lorain County Fair opens gates at 6 am with judging across ape class, Junior Fair swine, beef breeding, nutrition, poultry, sheep, and rabbits. Harness racing runs eight heats, stage shows feature Eddy Arnold, and a parade plus Hill Memorial Award occur before a 10:30 pm fireworks display.
On Friday August 26 gates open at 8 am for weigh-ins of tractor pull events. Judging starts at 9 30 am for Junior Fair steers and 10 am for Junior Fair nutrition.
