Train Smashes Into Car Killing Penfield Breeder and Wife

A New York Central mail train hitting a car near Jones Road, southwest of Wellington, killed Lawrence Betts and his wife Olive, marking the county’s 35th and 36th traffic fatalities. The 16 car eastbound train from Indianapolis to Cleveland dragged the car a mile before stopping. speed was 79 mph.
