Almond Hull May Be Source Of Auto Fuel
New York reports California scientists from the University of California prepared high proof brandy and fuel alcohol from almond hulls. W W Cruess Johnny Kilbuck and Ernest Hahl say hulls can yield table size foods and livestock feed, with vitamin C content. They note government subsidies and tax rules could hinder large scale use, but a big distiller might adopt the process. They caution the name brandy from almond hulls may not appeal to buyers.
