Charles Ja l ic of Dayton was elected state commander of the Disabled American Veterans at the Ohio department’s 2nd annual convention session in Columbus. The Dayton entrant won the seat during the closing day proceedings and will lead the state DAV organization.

Six men and two women faced fines in Mayor A. R. Agate's court today. Heavy fines arose from intoxication and disorderly conduct on Broad Street and Telegraph Road. Zoning: names include J. Gainnk of North Olmsted. charges ranged from drunken driving to disorderly conduct. several defendants paid fines and costs, with incidents on East Avenue, Broad Street, and Cascade Park area.
At Oberlin Hospital Mr and Mrs Julius Walcher of Cleveland were admitted after a Route 20 crash near Oberlin. Two children were treated but not admitted. Kinzel yond Avon Park resident Anthony Kinzel treated for minor injuries after his car left Route 20 near Elyria. A two year old from Lakewood suffered a forehead bump in a wreck on Route 10 east of Route 20. Multiple other collisions involving cars and pedestrians were reported around Oberlin, Wakeman, and Elyria with drivers and passengers treated for minor injuries or released.
Belgrade reports say two Yugoslav fighters forced down an American Army transport near Tubljana after firing on the aircraft. One Turkish passenger wounded. eight American crew and passengers unharmed but held under guard. Ambassador Patterson calls the attack wicked and deliberate. Crew listed as Capt William Crombie and others.
The Lorain County Bar Association adopted resolutions mourning the deaths of veteran attorneys Henry W. Ingersoll of Elyria and Adolphus Resek of Lorain. Ingersoll praised as a hard working lawyer and key community mover, with more than 60 years in practice and a devoted husband and father. Past Kiwanis president Al Grafton of Elyria invites club members to a dinner hearing on August 28 where Hamilton Holt, last Kiwanis International president, will speak at Gratton High School. The Elyria club also plans a clam bake on September 15 at Camp InsSeee acd.
The attorney general of Ohio will address attendees Wednesday afternoon during the Lorain County Fair races in Wellington. A separate incident reports Russell A. Buster, 23, of New Castle PA, treated for a laceration under his right eye after striking a police call box on Broad Street at Lodi Street. He required three stitches and was later released after initial treatment. Trem Carr, 54, Motogram Studios executive director in charge of production, died in San Diego California.
Greet Moore of Cleveland was detained by Bisha police after a bus driver reported Moore pulled a knife during a ride. George Shehan, the driver, said Moore boarded at Lotain and was followed after deboarding when the weapon was allegedly produced. A officer found the knife in Moore’s pocket. he may face concealed weapons charges.
The Wellington Fair program adds Klein's Revue to the lineup. On Thursday at 8 p.m. in front of the grand stand, the vaudeville show will run 16 acts. A Hillside Court bicycle vanished from Cascade Park but was recovered a few hours later at East Airport.
Ogden Utah detective captain announced the murder of Jack D Stilings near Coalville was solved with the confession of Eliseo Mares 19 of California. Inez Wistisen earned credit for spotting Mares car and alerting police after months of investigation.
A Chicago girl described as about 16 to 17 was held at gunpoint by four men who dragged her from a car in GinginNath Bolica area while her escort was threatened.
