NORWALK A 70 year old farmer was killed instantly when his tractor tipped on a small incline at the James Carter farm on Old State Rd. The accident occurred yesterday afternoon on private farmland. The victim’s name was not released pending notification of relatives.

A Monroeville couple, Mr and Mrs Maurice Farley, were killed when their car was struck by a Nickel Plate Railroad train on Patton Tract Road north of the village. The morning crash ended two lives in a roadside collision with a passing train.
A twin engine B25 bomber from Enid Oklahoma crashed short of a West Palm Beach housing development early today, killing four crewmen and injuring none. Debris damaged three evacuated homes as families fled in night clothing. six children among those who escaped the fireball.
