32 year old Donald Bristor of Elyria died at Elyria Memorial Hospital from head injuries after losing control of a motorcycle on Gateway Boulevard. His four year old daughter Dawn was treated in serious condition. Neither wore a helmet say rescue crews. Bristor had been shopping for a motorcycle and rode with family before the crash near Hazel Street. He worked as a truck driver for Triton Transport Trucking Services. Police said the accident remains under investigation.

A sailboat was struck by lightning about 6 30 p m Sunday six to eight nautical miles out in Lake Erie between Huron and Vermilion. Boater Jackie Hertfiel thirty five Broadview Heights and Ron Sattler fifty one Akron were treated at Lorain Community Hospital. One man swam to a Westlake Road Vermilion residence after the vessel sank and an ambulance was called at five a m today.
