Oberlin firm seeks 45 percent property tax cut
Ciba Corning Diagnostics Corp Gilford Systems asks Oberlin county for a 45 percent devaluation of its taxable property from 4.59 million to 2.7 million, a move that would cost Oberlin schools about 20 000 yearly in tax revenue. The county Board of Revision plans to meet next week to hear the case with Mark Stewart stating the firm argues taxes exceed its property value. The board heard supporting testimony from a Sabre Corp appraiser and toured the plant after inspection Thursday.
