Wellington school chief earns raise and contract extension
Wellington Exempted Village School Board approved a 2000 pay raise for Superintendent James W. McGlamery lifting his salary to 39000 for the next year and a five year contract extension. The board also reduced his retirement contribution to 1.75 percent while paying 14 percent as required by law. Audrey Lance opposed both actions citing concerns for the district. Leslie Warren was absent during the 3-1 vote with the session also noting a prior vote against funds for roof repairs and blacktopping and a proposed Asphalt contract.

FBI probes death of Ohio inmate at Lucasville
The FBI has been probing the February 9 death of an Ohio prison inmate at Southern Ohio Correctional Facility Lucasville since March. Rep. Louis Stokes urged a full investigation, and the DOJ will route the letter to the civil rights division. Department officials say information is being gathered and evaluated as the inquiry continues. Meanwhile Wellington Village Council approved a new natural gas rate schedule from Columbia Gas of Ohio with an immediate decrease and staged increases through 1986, plus a lower minimum billing per customer.
