West fires rage across Oregon and Nevada regions
More than 6,500 firefighters battled wildfires across the West including Oregon California and Nevada. Gov. John Kitzhaber declared a state of emergency to mobilize 200 National Guard members. Level Four preparedness was declared by the National Interagency Fire Center. Firefighters fought 55,000 acre blaze near Ravendale California and Mendocino National Forest fires nearing 12,086 acres with extensive equipment and personnel deployed.
