Lorain County study flags limited industrial sites
A Lorain County Regional Planning Commission study finds less than half of 42 industrially zoned districts are readily available for manufacturers. Key issues include lack of roads water and sewer access and poor topography. The report highlights Elyria Lorain Sheffield Amherst North Ridgeville Wellington Vermilion Grafton and Avon as having multiple sites but notes most ready parcels are near capacity. A detailed countywide analysis and brochure plan for attractors were outlined with a September 2 commission meeting planned.
