Taken From Our Files 25 Years Ago 1909 Lorain milk and steel plant talks
In 1909 Elyria city board of health pressured dairymen to test herds for tuberculosis and milk was flowing to Elyria distributors. Rumors revived of a Lorain steel plant sale of 249 acres by Sheffield Land for 278,500 dollars. A Lorain County firemen parade dispute with union bands caused several participants to drop out. Primary voting in Lorain County saw few contests with Baird and Standen nominated for city solicitor and treasurer.
