An auto accident on Lake avenue last evening involved George Birkline of this city and KE R. Jinn of Lorain. Birkline overturned his car. Miss Gertrude Rirkline, niece of Jorge George Hirk line, suffered severe head bruises and was taken to Memorial hospital but not admitted.

Bar Association Plans Attendance at Stroup Funeral

Lorain County Bar Association met at the courthouse and voted to attend the funeral of the late Lee Stroup in a body. A committee of H. C. Johnson, Frank A. Stetson and Lawrence Webber was appointed to draft appropriate resolutions on his death.

Indians Kill Six Schoolboys Near Barrow

Six boys aged ten to thirteen were killed near Barrow while praying. They were tied to trees and shot by assailants calling themselves Indians who believed their guns were unloaded. The incident occurred in Hanover Germany on August 11.

Mrs Jane Pelter of 437 Louisiana Ave fractured her left lower limb in a fall Saturday at 5 10 p m. She was admitted to Memorial hospital for treatment.

Traveling salesman dies by suicide in Lorain hotel

A traveling man from Lima identified as F. A. Lee Tos hanged himself in a Lorain hotel yesterday. An attendant found the body and a coroner was notified. Letters to his wife and son said he faced possible discharge for poor business. the body was sent to Lima today.

Twelve liquor violators face fines in local court session

Police justice J. George presided as twelve men charged with liquor law offenses were fined according to offense level. Among them Andy Redey and Lee Davis paid five dollars and costs for intoxication, while W J Bailey Jr faced 75 dollars and costs after pleading not guilty to driving an auto while intoxicated. Ursen Injured by Auto Driver Hits Sidewalk

Eleanor Ursen of 951 Hust Riverstreet was struck at 1 40 pm Saturday by an auto driven by Mr. Snitzler. The car mounted the sidewalk and knocked her down injuring her left arm slightly. She was taken to the hospital but admission was not required.

Elyria unit to hold reunion of 271st division exservicemen

A group of ex servicemen from Elyria plan to attend the 271st division reunion in Findlay on Aug 31 to Sept 2. The 145th infantry includes Company B from Elyria as part of the division. Military authorities in Nashville opened an investigation into the Old Hickory Powder Plant fire that destroyed property estimated at 28.6 million dollars.

Arrests for forged check and daylight burglary

Harry B. Vallier of Marine City Mich. was arrested in Cleveland for issuing a $20 forged Lorain Drug Co. check and pleaded guilty. He is held on 2500 bond with a hearing set for August 14. Joseph Keller of Melrose Park Ill. was bound over to court on a 3300 bond for daylight burglary after neighbors reported a break in at C. E. Kuntz’s home. The report also notes AFL officials, returning from Atlantic City, notified Senator Robert La Follette of labor backing this week via Samuel Gompers.

A chaotic crime wave is reported with bandits killed and numerous murders across Indiana Michigan Ohio and Colorado. Notable incidents include two bandit deaths after a supermarket robbery attempt in Marion Indiana, a double murder in Detroit, and a fatal cyclone in Denver. Man Granted Garage Overnight In Ridgeville

A man arrived Saturday at Ridgeville Metgher garage in an Overland, asked to park and sleep in the car, was allowed to stay, then departed with two inner tubes and two tires belonging to the garage owner. The incident notes the garages valued at 968, with further mention of railroad locomotive issues in Washington, Ag. 11.
