Lawrence R. Huber, 60, of Grafton, died August 8, 2012 at Medina General Hospital after an eight month illness. Arrangements pending with Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home at 1021 Main St., Grafton.
Lillian H. Henry of Lorain died August 8 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Arrangements are pending with Schwartz Spence Boyer Cool Home for Funerals in Lorain.
Johnnie Mae Reed 88 of Lorain died August 6 2012 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home. She had lived in Lorain over 60 years and worked 19 years as a Nurses Aide at Elyria Methodist Home. She served as Mt Nebo Baptist Church mother usher and cooked for family. She leaves daughter Janie M Williams four grandchildren 11 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren and son John Jackson. Burial is at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation August 11 2012 at Mt Nebo Baptist Church. Burial by Brown Robinson Funeral Home.
Felicia Renee Gardiner, daughter of Ed ward Eugene Gardiner Jr. and Anna Marie Post Gardiner, born July 3 1991 Elyria Ohio, died July 24 2012 in Tulsa Oklahoma at age 21. Survived by her children Madison Anna Gardiner and Easton Tyler Lane both of Claremore Oklahoma, companion William Taylor Lane, brother Edward Gardiner III of New Orleans and sister Leslie Marie Post of Claremore, plus many relatives. Memorial contributions may be made to the Felicia Renee Gardiner Memorial Fund c o RCB Bank Claremore.

A Westlake man and three friends were fined 100 each after pleading no contest to criminal trespass for swimming at the Republic Steel quarry in Elyria. The teens were ordered to avoid further contact with the quarry.
Lorain County prosecutors say the investigation into police actions during Guice’s death remains ongoing. Guice, suspected in a domestic incident, drove a Scion to a complex, rammed a residence, fired at an officer, and was shot after a standoff. He was hospitalized at MetroHealth in Cleveland for several days.

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted launched an online address update option to improve voter registration accuracy and security. The tool helps ensure voters are registered at their current addresses 30 days before elections and may reduce provisional ballots. About 660 used the site within five hours. 130,000 provisional ballots were cast in 2008 due to address issues. Voters can print registration forms by mail if needed. Registration deadline is Oct. 9 for the Nov. 6 election.
