Garden club places three bee hives with local beekeeper
Ridgeville Garden Club purged three bee hives earlier this year due to the national bee shortage. The hives, each with a queen and 10 000 bees, were relocated from Sandy Ridge Reservation to a Sugar Ridge Road home with Christine Barnett of the Lorain County Beekeepers Association caring for them. The club hopes the bees survive winter and pollinate flowers and produce fruit and vegetables year round.
