Opponents of a 0.25 percentage point sales tax hike submitted 11,844 signatures to the Lorain County Board of Elections on Tuesday morning aiming to place the measure on the November ballot. The group needed 7,782 valid signatures, about 10 percent of the last gubernatorial vote, to trigger a referendum. About 13 members filed at 9 a.m.
