Judge finds man guilty of falsification in Lorain case
Lorain city worker David Velez was found guilty of a misdemeanor falsification charge by Elyria Lorain County Common Pleas Judge James Burge. Bribes and solicitation charges were dismissed for lack of evidence. Velez faces up to six months in jail at sentencing later this year.

Sign back up displays county traffic deaths in Elyria
The Elyria Ohio Highway Patrol post restored the blue 3 by 3 foot sign showing county traffic deaths after maintenance issues. Lt. Travis Hughes says enough usable numbers were found to prevent another shutdown and notes the sign now lists 19 deaths so far in 2012, well above last year.

Planned Cleveland bus route presented to officials
Elyria Lorain County Administrator Jim Cordes floated adding a 75 cent surcharge to a new Lorain County Transit bus route to downtown Cleveland. The six month trial would run from the Lorain County Transportation Center in Elyria and the Board of Elections in Sheffield Township to Cleveland, with planners undecided on final approval.
