Fires rage across Greece threaten towns and Evia island
Three large wildfires churned across Greece on Saturday with evacuations under way. One blaze on Evia cut the island in half and forced about 1,400 people to evacuate by sea. Other fires flared near Ancient Olympia and in the Mani region. Mount Parnitha remained active north of Athens with containment described as going well.
