Nordson Corp of Amherst razed a garage and parking lot on Middle Avenue and Route 20 to plant a new park two miles south of Elyria center. Director Janes C. DePaola names Mulder to civil service seat in Amherst
Mayor Anthony DePaola named Richard Mulder Sr to the vacant civil service commission nine days before state appointment. Mulder, 51, a Republican carpenter, will fill the term of James Gammons who resigned in June. The term ends December 31. Mulder faces questions about conflict of interest due to petition activity and a recent city contract. Hall’s five day suspension appeal looms as Mulder may be asked to disqualify himself. The commission also will handle a new utilities superintendent appointment and a job description exists for it.
