Cedar Point wins in public relations category at national photo awards
Cedar Point’s public relations department earned one of seven awards in the 1978 Industrial Photographic Departments of the Year, sponsored by Eastman Kodak and the Professional Photographers of America. The prize cited 1977 photography placements with AP and UP I. Michael Grone, a Cedar Point staff photographer through May 1978, contributed to the 1977 season.

Building activity climbs in Lorain County in June
The F W Dodge Division reports Lorain County construction rose in June with total building valued at 14.9 million dollars, up 8 percent from June 1977, and the first half of 1978 showed a 16 percent gain. Nonresidential work slipped 29 percent, while residential projects surged 37 percent year over year, aided by housing demand. Ohio OBES also filled 20,975 jobs in June, a 37.5 percent rise from May, with 85,089 jobs filled in the first six months, 25 percent above last year.
