Trial details in case of Donkers and religious group
Misdemeanor charges arise from a religious belief that the husband must punish his wife. Donkers watched a two hour police cruiser video as Trooper Coles followed her with siren and lights. The couple belongs to the First Christian Fellowship for Eternal Sovereignty. The group has a history of challenging state laws and was founded in Henderson Nevada in the 1990s. Barnhill, a minister with about 650 followers, faces the courtroom as Donkers names witnesses including Barnhill and her mother. A Syracuse truck driver testified spotting a woman driving with a baby on her lap and calling 9-1-1.
