The National Association of Realtors reports a 0.5 percent quarterly drop in existing home sales from 3.76 million to 3.68 million annual rate. Regions show mixed results with Midwest up 5.8 percent and Northeast down 14.5 percent. national median price rises 3.4 percent to 96,200.
U S productivity rose 1.6 percent in the second quarter marking the first gain in 18 months. Output per hour of work increased though hourly labor costs rose 5.4 percent in Q2 1990, signaling inflation pressures. Analysts note limited impact on living standards and competitiveness despite the small bright spot.
Creston Auc sold 838 head from 348 consignors on Monday including 16 goats, 2 ponies, 6 loads hay and straw. Prices ranged from 80 cents to $1.09 for calves and cattle, with sheep, hogs and cattle values listed for each category.
