Safety seats save children from injury in Route 2 wreck
In heavy rain an elderly Vermilion man, 90, lost control on an entrance ramp to Route 2 and crashed his 2001 Lincoln Continental, later reported in fair condition. A 2004 Toyota Sienna driven by Ranya Greenberger, 32, carried five children in safety seats who remained uninjured. The crash closed eastbound Route 2 for about 90 minutes.

Lorain Police Probe Shootings and A Fatal Natural Death
Police reported a 27-year-old Washington, D.C., man shot early Sunday after an argument with a man and two others on West Street. Trevor Hamlett was treated for a small caliber handgun wound near Highland. shells and a slug were recovered. In another case, a 60-year-old Lorain man died of natural causes at Amber Grove Apartments after neighbors noted a foul odor and maggots. The coroner cited multiple health issues. A church burglary caused 500 in damage at Christ United Methodist Church. 173 in Bible School change was stolen, with a blood trail and shattered windows. A separate report noted a woman in Elyria with blood throughout her home and police collecting samples. A separate incident: an 18-year-old Lorain man was struck near Kennedy's Broadway Billiards, with the assailant unseen after a fight following a remark about the man's girlfriend.
