Amherst couple named Outstanding Senior Citizens of Lorain County
Eugene and Sue Huber of Amherst were honored as Outstanding Senior Citizens of Lorain County 1983 by the Western Reserve Agency on Aging for their charitable work. Sue Huber volunteers at St Joseph Hospital and Amherst Hospital, tutors literacy, and coordinates Meals on Wheels while Eugene portrays St Nicholas and helps with fundraisers and church activities.

Actor Ralph Meeker dies of heart attack in California
Los Angeles AP Ralph Meeker dies at 67 from a heart attack at the Motion Picture and Television Hospital in Woodland Hills after strokes. He starred on Broadway and in films such as The Dirty Dozen Paths of Glory and Kiss Me Deadly and hosted the ABC series Not for Hire. He was born Ralph Rathgeber in Minneapolis and studied at Northwestern University. Survived by wife Colleen. Funeral services set for Tuesday at the Motion chapel.
