Swift justice for youth accused in tragedy
Wilkes-Barre, Pa. August 1 IL Pr Justice in the case of Bobbie Edwards will move swiftly. The youth, accused of repeating “An American Tragedy” will have his case presented to a grand jury on August 20 and go on trial September 1. Defense attorneys said he teased and allegedly murdered Freda McKechnie, a 22 year old church worker, by striking her with a blackjack and dumping her body into Harvey’s Lake the night before. The youth reportedly told authorities he planned to dispose of Freda to continue his notoriety. He attended church services in Luzerne county jail Sunday with Margaret Crain, then in Edwardsville, where both Edwards and Miss McKechnie were members. Rev. James Henry preached on “The Day Life.”
