Predictions by experienced observers suggest a light turnout for the August 14 primary with a full candidate field. Historical comparisons note voter totals in Lorain County elections, Elyria's strong participation, and the absence of strong issues driving the race as parties choose from numerous candidates. A 130-year-old Colonial flag was found in Manchester, and a Conneaut birthday cake event celebrated with a large cake.
