Elyria youths continue a prolonged protest from elevated positions as Johnny 5 ki surpasses 460 hours and Ernie Ray logs 428 hours. Overnight, projectiles were thrown from tree homes before authorities or guardians intervened. Three bicycle riders reached 307 hours and vow to press toward 700 hours.
Three businessmen from Scottdale and Uniontown begin a staged endurance test at the Summit Hotel porch. Carl Areford Thomas J. Lynch and Frank A. Merts sit through the night agreeing the first to leave loses 500 dollars while the hotel owner provides air refreshments.
Two blasts today rocked the Republic Steel Canton plant injuring eight people and damaging the power plant. The Home Council of Lorain county farm women's extension group meets this afternoon at the Farm Bureau office. It will decide on future women’s county projects and whether Lorain county women’s organizations will exhibit at the county fair. The seven members include Mrs. J. J. Prindle as chairwoman with representatives from Columbia Eaton Belden North Elyria Huntingon and Colum Ula.

Bannon was captured after colliding with a vehicle driven by Doris Hance of Elyria. Lorain County officials credited Bruce Gibbons and O. J. Rounds for detaining the suspect until Cleveland officers arrived as the man reportedly has a criminal record.
Sunbeam Heating Company filed a suit for 150 dollars yesterday against Eucell and Netlie Wiles in Grafton on a cognovit note. Nunzio F Neroni Construc tion Company and Lena Neroni of Cleveland filed a 5630.30 dollar suit against Hill and Hill Company Elyria contractors and others, seeking a lien on real estate in a Sheffield Village allotment for subcontracted construction work.

A combined police and gendarme force spent three hours calming an uprising at a Romanian war orphanage as the inmates protested disciplinary measures. The marchers briefly took to the street, several minor casualties reported before the youths surrendered and returned.

Plaintiff says a 36 month contract was cancelled after 2 months and that all monthly fees for 20 months were not paid. A separate petition asks C E Van Deusen to construe the insurance policy and direct estate distribution for the late Sylvester W Andreas.
The first shipment of head lettuce from La Jara this year by the San Luis Valley Growers Exchange consisted of two truckloads. One load was distributed among valley towns and the other sent to Pueblo. The La Jara lettuce crop looks well and good quality is anticipated.
Prudential Insurance Company secured a judgment in Common Pleas Court this morning. The mortgage held by the insurance company on Elyria real estate was foreclosed to recover 3175.33 on a promissory note.
Mrs George Bailey of Amherst pleaded guilty to possession of intoxicating liquor in Common Pleas Court this morning. Judge A R Webber placed her on a sixty day probation and continued the fine for observation of the case.
Oberlin reports a T. M. T. M club meeting at Mrs. Mary Shafer’s home with two new members voted in, bridge prizes won by Mrs. Cecil Grills and Mrs. Helen Humphrey, and Miss Hazel Gibson consolation. Gardens department picnic at Mr. and Mrs. E. Wright’s lawn drew about forty attendees. Fire, theft and travel notes follow, with residents visiting Akron, Cleveland, Indiana, and Ithaca, plus many who are away or returning to Oberlin.

Pigs 140 pounds quoted near 8.75, rough sows 7.50, stags 8.50. Cattle: steers 25-30 hundredweight, cows 5.25 to 6.25 per hundredweight, calves strong up to 13.60, common 8 to 11. Sheep: lambs around 9.50 to 10.00 for good to choice, common 6 to 7.50, sheep steady.
