In Indianapolis a 14 year old May Fite tearfully admits a friend shaved her waist length braids after a thief climbed in during the night. Her mother and father opposed bobbed hair but May confessed the cut hair was carried out by a peer. The family mourns the loss and the girl repents.
In Columbus on August 6 Walter Walters and former Norfolk and Western workers Brink and Fred Moore filed petitions in federal court. They sue railroad employers for damages alleging injuries and demand compensation of $115,000. The actions target the Norfolk and Western Railway Company and related entities.
