Meteor Splits into Pieces After Skimming Funeral Procession
Denver August reports describe a huge meteor that fell near Elwell Colorado. It struck near a church as a funeral cortege passed, then buried two feet into the ground. A second fifty four pound fragment and a seven pound piece were found later on surrounding ranches and farms. The twenty pound initial fragment is housed at the Colorado State Museum in Denver, while residents watched the sky traveler leave a grey blue smoke trail and a machine gun like rumble.
