New Fashion Shoppe Ready To Open In New York Area

Mr and Mrs Ena Egar launch a 10 day grand opening at 316 Road Se the former Bazley's Market site renovated into a modern womens apparel store. The 27 by 100 foot space on Columbia Ave features turquoise and beige decor and glass entrance. Forecast includes hats jewelry and better dresses with sportswear emphasis. The business at 240 Vidale Ave previously and the Egars' team, staff, and New York buying office are noted.

National Tube Division Promotes Paul Friedlander to Lorain Superintendent

Paul Friedlander, formerly from McKeesport National Tube Division, is named division superintendent at Lorain Works. He will oversee blast furnace, coke plant, and dock departments. Friedlander, a Beaver Falls native and Carnegie Tech alumnus, began as a management trainee in National Works in 1931 and rose to lead the blast furnace department in 1955. He is active in local boards and churches and has served in various civic roles in Elyria area.
